CHILD WELL-BEING COMMITTEE MEETING AT NANSANA MUNICIPALITY OFFICES:

YASI’s Country Director Calls for Stakeholder Action on Children’s Rights:
During a meeting at Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District, Musa Kasozi, Chairperson of YASI’s Child Well-being Committee and Civil Society Organisations operating in Nabweru Division-Nansana municipality of Wakiso district, stressed the urgent need for stakeholder sensitization on children’s rights. He highlighted key issues such as:
1. Scholarships and welfare support (including sanitary towels for girls) to keep children in school.
2. Protection from alcohol, drug abuse, sports betting, pornography, sexual harassment, child sacrifice, and the misuse of ICT.
3. Advocacy for literacy, life-long learning, and civic engagement to ensure no child is left behind.
Kasozi urged stakeholders to collaborate and adopt a multi-sectoral approach to leverage resources for these causes. He pledged YASI’s continued commitment to promoting and protecting children's rights in Uganda and globally.
